Parents to be transform nursery into a jungle dream
Creative DIY couple reveal how they made a jungle feature for their baby boy
Savvy couple Ashley Shaw, 26 and Danielle Revell, 26, reveal an incredible nursery transformation for their baby boy who is due in March 2021. The adventurous jungle theme looks perfect for their very own little Tarzan. The focus of the room is the creative DIY ceiling feature which cost around £180 including plush animal teddies from IKEA.
Ashley, from Kingston upon Hull, told money-saving site bargainbestfinds.co.uk: “When we found out we are having a boy we both wanted to do a jungle theme in the nursery, which is something that would suit him whilst he’s a baby, and last him until he’s a toddler. We didn’t have a budget, but we wanted something different that we could put our own touch on.”
Ashley goes on to say: “We made the ceiling feature ourselves – the frame is actually a shelving unit which is hung from the ceiling on hooks, and we added rope, battery operated lights and artificial plants. We secured everything with clear cable ties.”
“We wouldn’t change what we have done as we are completely happy with how the feature turned out, the only tip I would give is to measure twice and drill once.”
Salman Dean founder of bargainbestfinds.co.uk comments: “Many parents seem to fork out when creating nurseries however Ashley and Danielle have managed to create something Pinterest worthy for a fraction of the price. Their ceiling feature just goes to show you can DIY anything on a budget as long as you get creative.”
